Spills, Thrills & Wheel Spins
18 August 2025Imagine not being able to lift a glass of water, your morning coffee, No cold bubbles on a hot day.
For me, Perry, and thousands of others living with a spinal cord injury, this is a daily reality. Every sip depends on a straw and a second set of hands.
This is our everyday life for me, Perry, and so many others around the world living with a high-level spinal cord injury. And while we’ve adapted, we dream of a future where walking again isn’t just a dream—it’s a reality.
That’s why I’m inviting you to join us for SIP Week (1–7 September) a simple challenge with a powerful purpose.
But there's a way you can help—just by using a straw too.
Crafted by Perry Cross, SIP Week helps others experience our daily challenges—and more importantly, raises vital funds to help find a cure for paralysis.
There are over 20,000 Australians living with a spinal cord injury, with a new injury occurring every day. But now, hope is within reach. A world-first human clinical trial has begun, with the Gold Coast as the epicentre of research that could lead to a cure.
If you're living with a spinal cord injury, you may be eligible, so sign up here and take part in this trial. This is a rare and incredible opportunity to be involved in research that’s aiming to restore movement, independence, and quality of life.
